Work on the new wasterwater system is advancing quickly, The Town is preparing to activate homes in many neighborhoods soon. Along with all the positive benefits for homeowners and businesses, comes a critical responsibility for maintaining the very expensive Grinder Pumps, the heart of each individual system.
First, what is a Grinder Pump? A Grinder Pump is basically a sewage ejector pump with a grinder that chops solid wastes from a stucture's (home of busienss)sewage while pumping it to the main sewer line to be carried away.
What a Grinder Pump is NOT. It is not a "garbage receptacle." Attached here, you'll find detailed information on these essential components of the new wastewater system, who needs one (and why) and how to properly maintain the pump installed on your property. For easy reference, here's a Quick list of what NOT to feed into your sewer lines.
